Website terms of use
These terms cover this website: its pages, guides, comparisons and free in-browser tools. The Measure App itself is covered by its own Terms of Service and by Apple’s terms for apps from the App Store. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
1. Who we are
This website and The Measure App are made by Arron Mecwan, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at pawsitivitytoday@gmail.com.
2. Measurements are approximate and may not be accurate
Please read this section. Every measurement, reading, size and result produced by The Measure App, in every one of its tools, is an approximate estimate and may not be accurate. That includes the tape measure (Measure), Area, Height, Angle, Floor Plan, Level, Ring Size, Stud Finder and Ruler tools, and any saved measurement, floor plan or exported PDF. The same applies to the free tools on this website, including the square footage calculator, the ring size chart and printable sizer, the online ruler and the roof pitch calculator.
Results depend on your device, its sensors and camera, lighting, the surface, how the device is held and moved, and other things outside our control. Always use proper measuring tools alongside the app and this website, such as a tape measure, a spirit level or a jeweller’s ring sizer, and check any measurement yourself before you rely on it, especially before cutting, building, ordering or buying anything.
In particular:
- Stud Finder. It senses iron and steel only. It cannot detect wood, pipes or electrical wires, and a reading (or no reading) does not mean it is safe to drill, nail or screw into a wall. Never drill using it alone; check the wall another way first and, if in doubt, ask a qualified professional.
- Ring sizes. Sizes are approximate. Ask a jeweller to check a ring size before you buy.
- Floor plans, areas and heights. These are estimates. Don’t use them for structural work, legal or property documents, or expensive purchases without checking them with proper tools or a professional.
3. Information, not professional advice
Our guides explain how to measure things and restate information from official sources, which we link next to each fact. They are general information, not professional, safety, building, electrical, legal or financial advice, and they are not reviewed by a professional (see how we write our guides). Sources change, and we may not always be up to date. Check the original source and ask a qualified professional before acting on anything that matters.
4. App comparisons
Our comparison pages use only what each app’s App Store listing showed on the date stated on the page. Ratings, prices and features change. We make The Measure App, so we are not neutral. Other apps’ names and trademarks belong to their owners; we are not affiliated with them, and naming them does not mean they endorse us.
5. Apple
The Measure App is an independent app. It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, and it is not the Measure app that comes with iPhone. Apple, iPhone, iPad and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Purchases of The Measure App and Measure Pro are made through Apple and are governed by Apple’s terms.
6. Using the website
You may use this website for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t copy large parts of it, scrape it, try to break or overload it, or use it for anything unlawful.
7. Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as official sources and the App Store. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
8. Our content
The text, design, graphics and tools on this website belong to us unless stated otherwise. Screenshots show The Measure App.
9. No warranty
This website and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website, its tools, its guides or any measurement, including damage to property, injury, wasted materials, or purchases made in reliance on a measurement. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for using this website, which is nothing.
11. Your rights
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that can’t be limited or excluded, for example as a consumer in your country.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the website after a change means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the State of [Governing state to be confirmed], except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
