How we write our guides
This website is written by the one-person team behind The Measure App. We want every page to be worth reading for its own sake, and honest about what it is.
Where our facts come from
- About the app: from the app itself: what each tool does and what it says on screen.
- About everything else: from official sources, such as standards bodies (NIST, ISO, W3C), building codes (ICC), Apple’s own guides, safety charities and professional bodies (GIA, Jewelers of America). Each fact links to its source right next to it, and each guide lists its sources with the date we checked them.
- Comparisons: only from each app’s App Store listing, with the date we checked. We never use another app’s logo.
We restate what a source says. We don’t draw new conclusions from it.
No professional reviewer
Our guides are not reviewed by a builder, electrician, surveyor, jeweller or any other professional. That’s why we don’t publish advice of our own on safety-critical topics like drilling into walls or electrical work: we only restate what official safety bodies say, and point you to a qualified professional.
We make one of the apps
The Measure App is ours, so we are not neutral when we compare apps, and every comparison page says so.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email pawsitivitytoday@gmail.com and we’ll fix it. Each page shows the date it was last updated.
