Measure Pro

Measure height with your iPhone

The Height tool measures how tall something is. Aim at the floor directly below it and tap +, then aim at its top. Height is always measured straight up, even if you tilt the phone, so you don’t need to hold it level. The reading is an estimate from the camera.

How to use it

  1. Choose Height in the tool strip.
  2. Aim at the floor below what you’re measuring and tap +.
  3. Aim at the top. The app measures straight up from the floor point.
  4. Tap + to finish, then save it if you want to keep it.

Good for

  • The height of furniture, doors, shelves and ceilings
  • Checking clearance before moving something tall
  • Rough heights of plants or objects you can’t reach the top of

What it can’t do

  • The camera needs to see the floor point clearly to start.
  • Tall things far away are harder to read. Stand back only as far as you need to see the top.
  • Readings are estimates, not a substitute for a tape measure when it matters.

Height: questions

Can I measure a person’s height?

The tool measures from a floor point straight up to the point you aim at, so it can give a rough figure. It is an estimate, not a medical or official measurement.

Do I need to hold the phone level?

No. The app measures straight up whatever angle the phone is at.

Is Height free?

Height comes with Measure Pro. The Measure tool is free.
