Bubble level app for iPhone
The Level tool turns your iPhone into a spirit level. Choose Level and stand the phone on the edge you’re checking, or choose Surface and lay it flat. The reading shows how far off level it is, in tenths of a degree. You can set your own zero and reset it later.
How to use it
- Choose Level in the tool strip.
- For a shelf or a frame, pick Level and stand the phone on the edge you’re checking.
- For a table or a floor, pick Surface and lay the phone flat on it.
- Use the crosshair button to set the current position as zero, and the reset button to go back.
Good for
- Hanging pictures and shelves straight
- Checking a table, a washing machine or a fridge is level
- Checking a surface before laying something on it
What it can’t do
- It needs the phone’s motion sensors. A device without them shows “No motion sensors”.
- If the phone doesn’t sit flat, for example on its camera bump, set your own zero on a surface you know is level.

How precise is the reading?
The app shows tenths of a degree, which is about the honest resolution of the phone’s sensors after smoothing.
